Linocut: Jeans

I did my first lino cut when I was twelve years old and loved the rustic quality you can get from hand carving…. but I hadn't done another one until a few years ago.  

When the class in engraving and printing was offered at my local art school I got a coveted place in the printmaking class based on my dossier of paintings and the lino- cut was one of our first lessons.  

The teacher brought some old pairs of jeans ( denims, levis) to class and asked us to draw them and I produced this lino cut from that drawing.

 I use BFK Rives archival, velum paper, 280 gram weight for all of my prints.
